Complete Ban on plastic bags
UAE is planning on a complete ban on single-use plastics in a bid to tackle climate change before COP 28 in UAE. While the ban isn’t expected to be fully implemented until 2022, the emirate of Dubai plans to ban plastic bags completely within two years.
Dubai and Abu Dhabi already imposed a financial tariff on single-use plastic bags. Businesses will be responsible for informing customers about the tariff.
